About Credit Card Matches

Credit Card Matches helps people who are building credit for the first time, or rebuilding it, find credit card offers that fit their situation. We also write short guides and a newsletter.

How matching works

You pick your situation: your first card, rebuilding, wanting to check before you apply, or wanting cash back. We show the card offers whose issuers say they fit that situation, and we quote the line from the card's own offer that puts it there. You can also pick your state, so you only see cards offered where you live.

We don't see your credit file and we don't make credit decisions. A match isn't an approval. The card issuer decides, on its own terms.

What we don't do

We're not a bank, a lender or a financial advisor. We don't take credit applications. Our guides are general education, not advice for your situation.

How we make money

We're paid by advertisers. When you click an offer in one of our emails or on our pages, and sometimes when you're approved, we may earn a fee. That's how the site stays free. Read our advertiser disclosure for the details.
